This exciting opportunity with Aspire, the largest 400-acre private passive park free to the public in Clinton, Tennessee, is open to all U.S. citizens at least 18 years of age.

The position is full-time and needs to be filled immediately.

The Assistant Landscape Director will be the primary steward of all plants, trees and the overall landscape of Aspire. Candidates will be responsible for maintaining and overseeing the park’s natural areas, installed plantings, 20+ miles of hiking, biking, and walking trails, as well as the overall park landscape infrastructure.

The candidate must have leadership aspirations and a willingness to lead by example. Attention to detail is a must.

The candidate must have experience managing large outdoor environments, turf grasses, native prairie systems, warm-season grasses and wildflowers. The candidate must understand tree management, soil, and turf management. An understanding of the uses of herbicides and fertilizers is desired. Candidates must also be able to identify problematic weeds and employ proper control/management measures. Disease and pest identification and management are desirable traits of qualified applicants.  Hands-on experience with irrigation systems is an important part of the position and should be included with your resume.

Candidates must possess a knowledge of operating various equipment such as: Agricultural tractors and implements, various types of mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, track loaders, seeding and fertilizer equipment, and herbicide equipment. 

The candidate should possess experience working with contractors in the delivery of landscape and hardscape services.

This is a very hands-on position, and the applicant must be able to work consistently outside, in all types of weather. Applicants must have the physical ability to walk for long distances, bend, or stoop, pull weeds by hand, dig holes by hand, and lift at least 50lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $62,000.00 per year
